Seven Bamboo "Song Bags"

2011

Wong Tai Sin is located in the then Chuk Yuen (literally, Bamboo Garden). The artist purposely employs bamboo as the element for creation. This art consists of seven cylindrical metal frames stabilized by sacks of sand, which are green in colour. The lengths of the bamboo sticks are irregular. Beads are placed inside the hollow trunks. They make different sounds when shaking, as though they were murmuring and singing. The art is, as it were, a huge musical organ in the public place inviting people to play the merry notes thereby giving them surprises.
