Sweetness Comes After Bitterness
Video installation
2010
This time, I will treat my friends and family around a bowl of 24-flavours and take a video while they are drinking to capture their slight facial changes brought by the bitterness. The video will be displayed in the form of installation. Although visitors cannot try the herbal tea, the visual images of the video will immediately stimulate their sensory nerve which will generate a body’s reflex – tasting bitterness at mouth.
The sweetness comes after bitterness, also the good partner of 24–flavours, a preserved plum, chan pai mui or haw flakes.
